Privacy Policy

Antony Van der Mude LLC ("the Company," "I," "me," or "my") operates the website vandermude.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information I collect from visitors and clients, how I use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or signing up as a client, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information I collect

I collect only the information you choose to give me, chiefly through the client sign-up form at vandermude.com/signup.html:

• Contact details — your name, email address, and, optionally, your company or organization.
• Mobile phone number — only if you provide it in order to receive SMS text messages.
• Engagement details — the kind of service you are interested in and any description of your project you choose to share.
• Consent records — when you check the SMS consent box, I record the date and time of your consent, the exact consent language you were shown, your IP address, and your browser's user-agent string, so that I can prove you opted in.
• Technical data — my web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type, timestamps). I do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this Site.

2. How I use your information

• To respond to your inquiry and set up an initial conversation.
• To deliver and manage consulting services you engage me for, including scheduling, project updates, invoices, and replies to your questions.
• To send you SMS text messages only if you have opted in (see Section 3).
• To keep records required by law or needed to demonstrate your consent.
• To protect the Site against abuse, spam, and security threats.

I do not sell your personal information, and I do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. SMS / text messaging

What you are opting in to

If you check the SMS consent box on the sign-up form, you agree to receive SMS text messages from Antony Van der Mude LLC at the mobile number you provided. These messages are conversational and transactional — they relate to your consulting engagement, such as scheduling, project updates, and replies to your inquiries. I do not send promotional or marketing text messages.

How consent is obtained

Consent is collected exclusively through an unchecked checkbox on the sign-up page at https://vandermude.com/signup.html. The checkbox is never pre-selected, and checking it is not a condition of purchasing any service. The exact wording presented is:

Message frequency, charges, and opting out

• Message frequency varies depending on the activity of your engagement.
• Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier's plan.
• You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed.
• For help, reply HELP to any message or email vandermude@vandermude.com.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How your mobile number and opt-in data are handled

Your mobile phone number and your SMS opt-in consent are used solely to send you the messages described above. They are stored in a private, access-restricted record on my web host. Messages are delivered through Twilio, a communications platform provider that acts only as a service provider on my behalf (see Section 4). Your number and opt-in consent are never sold, rented, or shared with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

4. Service providers

I use a small number of service providers to operate the Site and communicate with clients. They process your information only on my instructions and only as needed to provide their service:

• Web hosting — hosts the Site and stores form submissions.
• Twilio — transmits SMS text messages to clients who have opted in. Twilio receives your mobile number for the sole purpose of delivering those messages.
• Email — delivers email correspondence.

5. Disclosure of information

Beyond the service providers above, I disclose personal information only:

• when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process;
• to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, its clients, or others; or
• with your explicit consent.

6. Data retention

I retain contact and engagement information for as long as needed to provide services and to meet legal, accounting, and record-keeping obligations. SMS consent records are kept for at least four years after your consent ends, so that I can demonstrate compliance with telephone-consumer-protection laws.

7. Your choices and rights

• SMS — reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts.
• Email — any message you receive from me will say how to opt out, or you may simply ask me.
• Access, correction, deletion — you may ask me to see, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you by emailing vandermude@vandermude.com. I will honor such requests except where I must retain information by law.

8. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are stored in a directory that is not web-accessible, and access to records is limited to me. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable measures to protect your information.

9. Children

The Site and my services are intended for business clients and are not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when I do, and material changes will be posted on this page.
